Njihove usne su tanke, nosevi šiljasti, lica su im izbrazdana i izobličena, njihove su oči ukočene, one uvijek nešto traže. Što traže? Bijelci uvijek nešto žele, oni su uznemireni i nespokojni. Mi ne znamo što žele. Mi ih ne razumijemo. Mi vjerujemo da su oni ludi.

Pitao sam ga zašto misli da su bijelci ludi?

Odgovorio je: Oni kažu da misle glavom.

Pa naravno, čime ti misliš? – upitao sam ga.

Mi mislimo ovim. – rekao je i pokazao na srce.

Ovo je njegov odgovor:

Čovjek, jer on žrtvuje svoje zdravlje da bi dobio novac. Potom žrtvuje novac da bi povratio zdravlje. Onda sa toliko tjeskobe očekuje budućnost da uopće ne uživa u sadašnjosti; posljedica toga je da ne živi niti u sadašnjosti niti ima budućnost; on živi kao da nikada neće umrijeti, i na kraju umre, a da nikada nije niti živio.
